George W, the Son King: Coup and Consequences of an Unelected President - Vol. 1, The Early Years
by Mike Dater
"Anger is certainly the motivation behind this book. I'm steaming. Im steaming because too many reactionary forces are coalescing to pummel our democracy by a coalition of megalomaniacs, ideologues, bigots, hatemongers and zealots. Anger never fails to get me to the drawing board; all I have to do is to open the morning paper and bemoan, in Dorothy Parker's immortal words, "[w]hat fresh hell is this?"
So writes author/illustrator in the introduction to this book. Read it and you'll be steaming, too. But don't worry, Mike Dater, political cartoonist for The New Hampshire Gazette, provides enough impropriety and mischief along the way to ease the pain. Nevertheless, his message is dead serious: our democracy is on life-support and badly in need of a populist transplant.
